BlackBox was created to highlight, through theater and cinema, the concerns of artists who choose to express themselves in the center of Athens. It is a place that hosts, promotes, and produces culture. Open to development, research, and presentation of works, with the aim of highlighting modern creation and, sometimes, the preservation of cultural memory. Designed with references to expressionist Berlin's aesthetics, with a four-meter cinema screen and a twelve-meter stage, it is itself a magic box of memories that fills, empties, and sets the tone.
The 9th AIDFF is dedicated to the cinema legend and "poet of the image", Federico Fellini who was born a hundred years ago. During his life he was honored with numerous awards, the ones that stand out are the "Golden Palm" at the Cannes Film Festival for his film "Dolce Vita", the "Golden Lion" for his film “Il Bidone” and the two "Silver Lions" for his films "I Vitelloni" and "La Strada" at the Venice Festival.He also won four times the Oscar for the best foreign-language film for his films "La Strada", "Nights of Cabiria", "8 1⁄2", and "Amarcord", and he was a finalist twelve times in the categories of screenplay and film direction. In 1993 he won an Oscar for all his contribution to cinema.
Στο πλαίσιο του Προγράμματος «Ημέρες Κινηματογράφου», η Ομάδα Πολιτισμού Δροσιάς του Δήμου Διονύσου θα κάνει αφιέρωμα σε νέους Έλληνες Δημιουργούς προβάλλοντας βραβευμένες ταινίες μμ από το 8ο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Ψηφιακού Κινηματογράφου Αθήνας AIDFF. Θα βρίσκονται κοντά μας ο Χρήστος Καρακάσης, Παραγωγός, Σκηνοθέτης, Καλλιτεχνικός Διευθυντής του AIDFF, η Βασιλική Κάππα, Εικαστικός, Συγγραφέας, Σκηνοθέτις και Παραγωγός του AIDFF, και Σκηνοθέτες των ταινιών.
Το 9ο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Ψηφιακού Κινηματογράφου Αθήνας AIDFF δέχτηκε 3000 αιτήσεις από 150 χώρες. Οι προκριματικές επιτροπές έχουν σχεδόν ολοκληρώσει την κοπιαστική και υπεύθυνη δουλειά τους. Το φεστιβάλ μέχρι τις 30 Σεπτεμβρίου 2020 θα ανακοινώσει τις βραβευμένες ταινίες του .Το 9ο AIDFF είναι αφιερωμένο σε ένα θρύλο του κινηματογράφου σε έναν «ποιητή της εικόνας» τον Φεντερίκο Φελίνι που γεννήθηκε πριν από 100 χρόνια.
